Zeppelins Good Eats: Exceptional Detroit-Style Pizza & Unique Comfort Food in Wakefield, MI

For being in a small town in upper MI, this place is AWESOME. The atmosphere is cozy and a bit unassuming, it’s definitely better than a diner, but also not a wine bar. Keep in mind, this area is very basic, so this place stands out at being exceptional. Now… the food. YUMMY. When I travel up to Wakefield, I not only get lunch, but I take an order to go so I don’t have to cook while I am working or playing. The menu has a great selection of fresh, flavorful, and unique to the area, items. I have not been disappointed in the 10+ times I’ve ordered from Zeppelin’s. I was fortunate to try their newly launched Detroit style pizzas and had a pepperoni with maple syrup and even added a maple syrup shake, both were SO good after a day of hard work on my vacation rental. I can confidently say that I will return to Zeppelin’s again, as I have already done numerous times :P

Honestly every meal I had at Zeppelins was awesome. The meals were packed with flavor, and many had a unique twist that set it apart from other restaurants. The atmosphere is also very impressive! The owner was very welcoming and you could tell he is super passionate and excited to open his restaurant! All in all, it’s a 10/10 for both food and environment, I definitely recommend stopping by if you are looking for some great food!

Wow! I was not expecting this great of food way out here. Detroit style pizza (better than what I grew up with) the cheesy Amish potatoes are excellent & the rueben sandwich (disguised as "the Larry") was perfect.

Our family had crazy bread and a pizza. It was absolutely delicious. One large pizza with the bread easily fed a family of four. We ordered for takeout at 545 and it was ready at 545. Delicious. We will definitely order again. Thanks mark!!!

If you're a a year round resident or visitor this is a must stop- Zeppelins Just does it ALL correct! I Wish I would have taken some pictures of the food but it all went down so fast. The Ribs are super tender and their bbq sauce is made from scratch and the taste is unique and balanced flavor;(not too sweet, not too tangy and not Smokey) they were literally just getting finished as we arrived at opening when we came in at 11 and they came out piping hot. The homemade corned beef & kraut on the Larry sandwich is out of this world amazing toooed with the their dressing & Swiss on grilled rye...it's really one of the best Reuben sandwiches I've ever had anywhere. The cheese fries were amazing-crispy cheesy hand cut-just everything cheese fries should be and they're not greedy like many places. Definitely will be back soon

We were just passing through the area and our lodging had the menu for this restaurant in the room. The menu wasn’t overwhelming but what was listed sounded good so we checked them out. Food was great, everything was really clean, people were really friendly. We had a great chat with the owner, told us how the name came to be. What a gem of a place - and check out their neighbor while you wait for your food.

This is a great place to stop after spending the day in the Porcupines! I ordered a full size Italian sub, bag of chips and a cup of coffee. The Italian sub was delicious and enough for two meals for me. But the best part was the cup of coffee! Kona coffee ordered straight from Hawaii and ground in house. It was the best cup of coffee I’ve found so far around here. Plus, if you dine in, it’s free refills! If you’ve spent the day in the woods, this is a great place to rest and fuel up for the rest of your trip. About 20-25 mins (depending on your driving) south of Presque Isle.

Fantastic Little cony place in a small town! The food was fantastic the service was very welcoming the restaurant was super cute and the owner was really nice! I definitely suggest checking this place out! Prices are NOT bad!!
